Maria Buhrkuhl Photography has come away with even more sort after Iris photography awards in 2015. This year achieving an illusive GOLD award in the Classic Portrait category with a grid composition of a young boy. His own newly learnt written words were used to offset the grid design, the careful placement of images and add to the strong communication of this gorgeous little boys personality and life stage at five.
Other awards this year were a Silver Award in the Landscape Category. Pretty good for the first time entering this category! Four Bronze awards were also gained over a spread of Classic Portrait, Creative Portrait and Illustrative Categories.
This is only the second year Maria Buhrkuhl Photography has entered these prestigious awards for New Zealand and International Professional Photographers. Already Maria has gained a Gold Award, a Silver Distinction Award, four Silver Awards and 6 bronze Awards.
This year the Canterbury/Westland NZIPP region finally managed to win the trophy for the highest scoring region away from Wellington. Maria’s Gold Award was one of the highest scoring prints that contributed to this victory.
