Natural Portraits for Baby Dane
Natural Light, Colours, Poses
Baby Dane was welcomed into this world earlier this year. Dane was in his first two weeks and discovering what life is about out of the comfort of Mum’s tummy. Like most babies at this time, he still preferred to be wrapped up cosy and tight. Such a perfect little boy, he had the most beautiful skin and natural dappled dark hair.
I prefer to Photograph babies in natural light, and in a more natural style. Not too much setting up with extra props and lots of different poses for baby.
Big sister Neevah, pottered around the studio room not really interested in the goings on of her new little brother. Mum’s clever packing of the iPad for Neevah proved to be a winner for all.
I photographed Neevah when she was a Newborn 3 years ago. It is so great to see these wee ones again as little characters, their own personalities well developed, temperaments, likes, dislikes and of course to see how beautiful they still are a few years or so later. How much they have grown and changed in this short time. It still overwhelms me when you see the amazing changes. It feels like you photographed them as Newborns only last year….
Gorgeous natural light was used in the studio for Dane’s photoshoot.
Natural browns was the way Mum wanted to go with colours for Dane. The 100% mohair wool layer from http://www.flovelies.com was used in the brown tones set up. We also made some images with a white blanket base for some variation in tone and to have some images with a lighter look. I just loved working with these natural colours and the contrast of having a darker base colour against the soft creamy tones of this newborn babies skin. Delicious!
