This experience is all about you. But here’s a bit about me as a person and as a photographer.
Getting in front of the camera…
For a lot of us, purposefully putting ourselves out there in from of a camera does not come naturally or with much enthusiasm. Believe me, I totally get this…. So you want to choose a friendly photographer who will listen and understand your needs and concerns.
At your portrait session you want to be able to have fun and be yourself in front of the camera because these are the moments that will show your character, your true happiness and deep love for each other.
Only you know how comfortable and relaxed your family will be at a portrait photography session. You want a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This is where I can help by working with you to give you and your family the confidence to relax and shine.
You know your kids better than anyone and I bet it’s really important to you that they are relaxed and at ease with whomever you choose to photograph them. It’s important your family can enjoy this experience so that natural effortless images that you love are the result. If it’s studio portraits you’re wanting, then an easy, child friendly, rather than intimidating studio, is what will work best for you. Something that is inviting and has space for the kids. If an outdoor location is your thing, you’d love the place to reflect the essence of who your family is.
You place a high value on your family images and I place a high value on your needs, ideas and individuality and of course creating beautiful images for you. You want stunning images that evoke a timeless feeling and capture the essence of those in them. I will work closely with you to achieve the best image results and the ultimate experience for you. And you will have fun!
I didn’t just fall into photography. The visual image has been my life for as long as I can remember. It is a strong and vital language for me and I have been studying, teaching and practicing this language for a long time.
I also have children of my own and I’m a trained teacher, so this helps with relating to kids and managing larger groups.
The value of photographs:
Over images we spend time together and we ask questions. We learn about our pasts and we learn about our family histories, but most importantly we laugh and we feel a sense of belonging in our family. We feel love and a place that is ours. Just like you, I want my children to experience this, and I want them to be able to share this with their children, and those who will follow them. Your images will treasured as important heirlooms now and for many generations to come.
So… talk with me about your ideas.
What others say….
“Where do we start? From the moment we asked if you would be interested in being our photographer, to the moment you left the venue after our amazing wedding day; your help, support and fun nature never stopped. You captured our special day perfectly, really showing the memories in their raw form and getting that perfect ‘love’ in every image with such ease. Every time we look at our photos we are so pleased with the results. We will be forever grateful.” – Roisin & Scott
” When I contacted Maria to see if she would be interested in taking my photo for my website and other social media she was so accommodating, nothing was a problem. Maria made me feel at ease immediately and I trusted her to get the best shots. She knew what would look better in the photos, right down to where my hair was placed. It felt different to me given that I’d done nothing like this before but her calm, caring attitude made me comfortable. I was so happy with the photos Maria took. I look at them now and smile. Everyone comments on what a beautiful picture it is of me. I think she really captured my personality and the picture was perfect for purpose.” – Melanie Taite
” Maria was so calm with my new born grandson. He wasn’t settling but she was so patient.” – ” Maria was non obtrusive and help me relax in turn helping my son to relax” – Jadah Pitama & Melanie Taite
